Maintain, troubleshoot and repair fixed plant equipment such as SAG/Ball mills, conveyors, compressors, hydraulic systems, pressure filters, pumps, and piping systems.

  • Responsible for all tasks related to preventative maintenance program such as reporting fluid leaks, performing lube work, taking fluid samples, inspecting components and parts for proper operation, damage or wear. 
  • Responsible for gathering technical information to perform the job.  Troubleshoots, diagnoses, modifies, fabricates and repairs mobile and stationary equipment in the Mill per supervisor direction.
  • Prepares computer generated work orders, changes out parts and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse.
  • Performs equipment walk around, inspects and operates equipment, properly disposes of wastes.
  • Repair and replace components and parts as needed.

Hand, pneumatic and power tools, front end and skid steer loaders, telehandler forklifts, welders, acetylene torches.

A rotation schedule consisting of four weeks working and two weeks off at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.


EDUCATION:  High school diploma or GED preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
CERTIFICATES, & LICENCES:  Valid Driver's license is required. MSHA certificate preferred.
EXPERIENCE:  Five years experience in maintaining and repairing fixed plant equipment preferred. Prefer experience with SAG/Ball mills and slurry pumps.
SKILLS:  Should have critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company. Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as J.D. Edwards is preferred.
ABILITIES:  Ability to use hand and trade type tools. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to assume increasing levels of responsibility. Proven ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials. Ability to work in a team with a high regard for Quality and Environmental concerns and with a strong commitment to Safety and Safe Production.

Accommodations: Requires staying at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, game room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and dorm room having phone, internet & cable tv.
Transportation: The company provides bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction or Tok.
