As a team member, our Mill Operator safely and efficiently operates the mill while maintaining a positive work environment. The milling operation includes grinding, gravity, sulfide flotation, Leach/CIP, tailings filtration, paste backfill, mine water treatment, and reagent mixing.


  • Safely startup, efficiently operate, and shutdown all equipment in the work area
  • Troubleshoot and correct circuit and equipment problems
  • Operate circuits safely with initiative, responsibility, and reliability
  • Record and maintain orderly operator log sheetsIdentify and report machinery maintenance needs
  • Perform mechanical tasks as needed, within the scope of training and skills
  • Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards
  • Responsible for pre-shift inspections, equipment pre-ops, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with others to maintain operational continuity
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and provide a positive atmosphere
  • Train other operators
  • Report and address safety and environmental concerns

Forklift, bobcat, front-end loader, man-lift, shovel, broom, overhead hoist, hand tools, etc. 

Working a 14 day on/7 day off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Standing and wearing PPE  twelve (12) hours per day. Lifting sixty (60) pounds occasionally and up to fifty (50) pounds to shoulder height regularly. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, in and around artificial light and in a confined spaces. Frequent climbing of ladders up to one hundred thirty (130) feet in height and stairs.

Ability to communicate with co-workers, Supervisors, and General Foreman. Lead by example.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations and keep records.

CERTIFICATES & LICENCES: Valid Driver's license is required. MSHA certificate preferred.

EXPERIENCE:  Limited experience in grinding, gravity, flotation, Leach/CIP, tailings filtration, paste backfill, mine water treatment, and/or reagent mixing. Preferred: Experienced and a high level of understanding and proficiency in 3 to 6 of the following circuits: SAG/BM Grinding, Knelson/ILR Gravity, Gold/Sulphide Flotation, Leach/CIP/Zadra Strip, Tailings Filtration/Paste Backfill, Mine Water Treatment, and/or Reagent Mixing/Handling

SKILLS: Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company. Demonstrated computer skills in Windows environment with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Effectively and accurate data input in a personal computer environment.

ABILITIES: Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, ability to work in a team environment with a strong commitment to Safety and Environmental policies. Proven ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from policy manuals and other reference materials.

KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of mill processing techniques.  Operational knowledge of office equipment and machines (I.e. phone, fax, copier, scanner, adding machine).

Accommodations: Requires staying at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, game room, exercise & weight room, sauna, wi-fi and dorm rooms have landline phones, internet & cable tv.

Transportation: The company provides bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction or Tok.
