Manage environmental permits and projects, prepare and review proposals, and provide engineering services. Perform data collection and reporting tasks to ensure permit compliance. Develop and manage investigations and environmental studies in response to changing conditions.


- Manage environmental projects such as well installation, baseline studies, and remediation projects.
- Prepare requests for proposals, review proposals, and write financial expenditure documents.
- Supervise contractors and consultants.
- Conduct engineer level field inspections (e.g. RTP, DSTF, SWPPP, SPCC), document observations, and prepare reports.
- Develop and maintain environmental drawings.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and quality control audits.
- Prepare agency reports and corporate reports.
- Maintain Environmental Data Management System (EDMS).
- Manage and maintain environmental plans, including: Pogo Mine Monitoring Plan, Pogo Quality Assurance Plan, Pogo Reclamation and Closure Plan, Pogo DSTF Construction and Maintenance Plan, Pogo RTP Operating and Maintenance Plan, Stormwater Pollution Prevention and BMP Plan, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan.

Personal computer, copier, light duty pickup truck with and without a trailer, 6-wheeler, boat, snow machine, office equipment such as computer, printer, copier and scanner, radio, shovel, broom, hand tools, sampling equipment such as pH, temperature, TDS, Conductivity meters, small generator, well pumps, pressure transducers, and met station data loggers.

A rotation schedule consisting of 2 weeks working and 1 week off or 4 days working and 3 days off at a remote campsite. Fifty percent (50%) of time may be field work with extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area and potentially underground. Fifty percent (50%) of time is in an office environment.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mining, Geologic, or Environmental Engineering or similar engineering field.

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES: Valid driver's license. Ability to obtain Professional Engineer, Engineer In Training, Registered Environmental Manager or other professional certification preferred. Current HazWoper certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Two years work experience in the environmental or mining industry or as a professional in natural resource development. Prefer experience in Alaska.

SKILLS: Advanced critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company. Demonstrated computer skills in Windows environment with experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated AutoCAD skills.

ABILITIES: Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment. Proven ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from laws, regulations, permits, reports, technical specifications, material safety data sheets, publications, and other reference materials. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and work safely with a high regard for quality and environmental concerns. Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and make effective presentations to groups. Ability to create reports. Ability to develop and maintain environmental drawings.

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of engineering practices and procedures. Knowledge of state and federal environmental laws, regulations, and permitting actions. Knowledge of engineering and permitting practices that relate to environmental matters. Thorough knowledge of the proposal process and contractor management preferred.

OTHER: Must pass a post offer physical and drug test.

Accommodations: Requires staying at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, game room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and dorm room having phone, internet & cable tv.
Transportation: The company provides bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction or Tok.
